It is a shoppers adventure and paradise. You may not snag a bargain but what fun. It's open Saturday, Sunday and Monday and has thousands of stalls, carts, shops and vendors selling everything from vintage clothing to paintings. Get there early if you want to snag any deals. Ok here's how to get there because this is THE place to go. Take the Metro to the Porte de Clignancourt stop; exit onto avenue de la Porte de Clignancourt. With GPS in hand, I head north by about one block and corss beneath an underpass. The market will on your left.
If you are a haggler. Go for it. Most of the shopkeeppers love it. You can usually get a least 10% off the asking price. Most Parisians. choose the Clignancourt market over Pote de Vanves, 14e. I haven't been there but I'm told it is a cool market. To find it, take the Metro to the Porte de Vanves stop, then exit at boulevard Brune. Follow it east to avenue Georges Lafenestre. Turn right. This market is open on Saturday and Sunday.
Other flea markets include one at Porte Montreuil (Metro: Porte de Montreuil) and Place d'Aligre, 14e. Take Metro Ledru-Rollin. For you "junk" lovers, junk takes on a whole new meaning at these two flea markets.
Score some bargains. Well, maybe. Or...wait for sales (soldes).
